I am a huge huge fan of Cricket and have grown up watching them all the time. So a story of a sportsmen that describes his struggle and his love for his sport was irresistible to me. 

Sooley is the story of a 17 year old basketball player Samuel from Sudan who gets a lifetime opportunity to travel to US for an international tournament. So when Samuel wanted to excel himself and prove his worth, he gets an devastating news of his family who becomes the victims of war and had to leave their home to move to a refugee camp. Will Samuel be able to win this tournament or will he leave this opportunity to get back to the safety of his family??

Now to be honest, it is not a typical John Grisham novel and that attracted me to it. But it would have been really helpful for me if I was a Basketball fan rather than Cricket because of the various technical terms in this book😃😃. But that kept apart, this story will touch your heart and you feel empathetic and connected to Samuel. His hard work and determination and the love for his family will keep you hooked to the end of this book.
