House of Hollow | Krystal Sutherland | Book Review

“ I am the thing in the dark”

This one line was enough for setting a creepy horror mood for this story. House of Hollow is the story of three sisters Grey, Vivi and Iris who have a history of disappearance during childhood. Then magically reappeared sisters were strange and years later when one of them suddenly go missing again, the mystery begins.

The book was a short, fast paced, one sitting read, written beautifully and executed well. The plot kept us on edge throughout.

Some details like the beauty of the sisters was discussed throughout the book which was really not necessary. But for characterisation, I liked Grey’s character a lot more even though the story was written from Iris point of view.

I appreciate the way of writing in this book because even though the plot didn’t give a huge horror vibe the writing definitely did. The suspense factor was okay and the climax was definitely hopeful because I would have been sad if the last line was not there in the book.

Overall a well written horror book with a beautiful cover.

Recommend it to everyone who wish to read a short and fast paced horror thriller book.

Thank you so much @harpercollinsin @afterschooltales for the lovely copy of this beautiful book.
