The Push| Ashley Audrain | Book Review
“It’s Complicated”
Motherhood is complicated. Life is complicated and even people are complicated. So in this complicated world how can we expect a mother to be sane? How can you expect someone with a traumatic past to be sane?
The Push is one hell of a ride. It keeps you on edge, slams your face with brutal reality of life and parenthood. When everyone tells you that having a baby is such a wonderful feeling and you can feel all the laughs and giggles every time, nobody tells you the harsh reality of being a parent. Because sometimes accepting a new life and raising him/her is the most challenging thing ever. This story runs deep in the history of different mothers who faces issues with this acceptance.
Blythe delivers her first baby Violet, a baby girl whom her husband adores but she finds difficult to accept. The feeling of our own kid disowning us leaves a bigger hole in the heart. Blythe faces this rejection and that allows her to see the evil side of her own creation which others might never see.
I was completely into this book and it was such a harsh reality that people don’t talk about it. I liked the concept, the writing style and it was all worth. Because this book is just ........ Can’t explain... No Spoilers... But the last line could actually raise your heartbeat....
So this masterpiece has my 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕 star rating.
