An enthralling read. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I was reluctant to pick it up first.. Maybe because I rarely read Indian authors books least a fantasy. But then once I covered the first 5 pages, I knew the writing style of the author is different.
It’s a beautiful saga of love, hate, trust, anger and many such factors. The story starts with Kara, who makes a deal with Cifer, in exchange to work for him. Now Kara is a human being, Cifer is the caretaker of the Underworld. So Kara enters the world of Underworld as Cifer’s bodyguard and her life changes.
I liked the story and the twist that the author was able to put up in almost every nook and corner which keeps you hooked up. Also the climax was really unpredictable.
The main characters are very likeable and my heart goes to Atom, I liked him even though he is the bad guy.
Now what I didn’t like about the book was that after about 100-200 pages, I felt that the story lost its track. It was a fantasy with suspense factor but then there were so many things going on at once. But at the end, many things were cleared and it took the last line to clear all the doubts.
Also the climax, even though unpredictable and unimaginable brought some sadness and I wish the author could say there is part 2 of this book. Because I couldn’t accept my main characters losing everything in the end.
In this book, I fell in love with many characters and thus I appreciate the character development by the author. Overall it’s a beautiful book, makes you read each line as everything is important here.
Thank you once again Kanika for the copy.
