Maybe in Another Life | Taylor Jenkins Reid | Book Review
“Fate or not, our lives are still the results of our choices”
Maybe in Another Life by @tjenkinsreid is one such book that makes us question whether the choices that we make could change our lives or not..
It’s the story of Hannah Martin who returns to her hometown LA after ending a toxic relationship with a married man. To celebrate her first night back, her best friend, Gabby, takes Hannah out to a bar—where she meets up with her high school boyfriend, Ethan.
The book is set in parallel universe where we see how Hannah’s life changes under two situations: When she decides to stay with Ethan and let Gabby ride home. Or when she decides to ride home with Gabby and leave Ethan.
I liked this book for it’s simplicity and complexity. Yes, the book was simple in terms of story line— nice and sweet but not a love story instead it’s more like a life story. But complex because the author has written the story in parallel universe. It really messes with your brains when you read and feel both the story lines together, yet the connections formed, the love stories made were intriguing.
In the end, everything happens for good is the main mantra here as Hannah was able to find her soulmate in both the universe. Also it teaches us the value of true friendship and Gabby is one such friend ❣️❣️❣️
Also the ending was very much unpredictable for me as I couldn’t figure out how the storyline was moving. So Wowwww👍👍👍
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
