November 2020 Wrap Up




Hey Bookworms,

As we are nearing to the end of this year and all of them are trying hard to achieve our GoodReads Goal, all of us can use a bit of bookish recommendations. 

Here are the books that I have read in the month of November. If you find it interesting enough, please do pick it up as your next read.

1. Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banarjee Divakaruni 


Genre: Historical Fiction

It is the epic story of Mahabharata, from Draupadi’s point of view. The story starts with Draupadi’s birth, to her marriag with all five Pandavas, her humiliation by Kauravas, their exile for 13 years and the Kurukshetra war between cousins. 

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

2. My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult 
  

Genre: Domestic Fiction

The story talks about Anna, who sues her parents for medical emancipation when she is asked to donate her kidneys to her sister Kate who is suffering from Leukaemia. It’s a heart touching book taking us through their lives and shows how much every one of them suffers when someone dear to us is on the verge of death.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

3. The Nameless Relationship by Preeti Shenoy 


Genre: Romance

It’s a short story of Dhiraj and Lithika where he cannot live without her and Lithika who is married and almost Dhiraj’s mothers age is falling in love with a younger person.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

4. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban by J.K. Rowling 


Genre: Fantasy Fiction

The story revolves around the life of Harry Potter who enters in the third year of Hogwarts School of Wizardry and how he finds himself being threatened to death by a convicted criminal and the prisoner of Askaban. It’s insanely famous book in Harry Potter Series and a must read for everyone.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

5. Pregnancy Notes by Rujuta Diwekar


Genre: Non-Fiction

It’s a non fiction book that talks about how a women should prepare herself before Pregnancy, during and after Pregnancy. It focuses mainly on exercises, the food patterns and diet one must follow during this time. 

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

6. The Perfect Murder by Ruskin Bond


Genre: Crime/Thriller

It’s a collection of eight short stories by different authors and one among them is Ruskin bond. The stories details about various crimes and investigations and it is a one time read. 

My Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 

7. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini 


Genre: Fiction

The plot revolves around the life of Maria, an illegitimate child been married to a man who is 30 years elder to her and the story of Laila who comes as her husband’s second wife. It’s the story of friendship, love, war and peace and Hope.

My Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

8. Krishna’s Secret by Devdutt Pattanaik


Genre: Historical Fiction

This is a short story about the life of Krishna, from the point of Baghavat Gita and Mahabharata and the role Krishna plays in each of them. It tells us about his birth, his mischievous activities and his advisor role in Mahabharata.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
